Hospice and Palliative Care is care for people facing a life-limiting illness or injury.  This type of care involves a team of professionals.  Members of the Hospice Team may include doctors, nurses, social workers, and ministers.  The Hospice Team focuses on medical care and pain management.  They also provide support for the patient as well as their loved ones.  Hospice focuses on caring, not curing.

Palliative Care extends care to more people that could benefit from receiving this type of care earlier in their illness or disease process.  Palliative Care, ideally, would turn into Hospice Care as the illness progresses.
